In the article “The Refugee Community Health Worker Initiative (RCHWI) In Rhode Island: A Pilot Program” (2016), Saya and the other authors provide information about an organization and their goal “to develop and train a cadre of former refugees to serve as health liaisons for more recently arrived refugee families in order to improve outcomes” (29). The authors sustain their argument by starting with background information about the issue and healthcare topics, and then goes into depth about community healthcare and its effects and benefits on the refugees, providing statistics to supplement their claims. The authors purpose in this article is to inform the public about the benefits and effects of providing healthcare to the refugees. The language used by the authors implies an intended educated and already informed audience, because it is formal and uses objective language with no first person.
